We love you too, Wixey Bakery! 💙💛
Today is the last day of school for TPS and while we know summer is always something students look forward to, we will miss Harvard dearly. ❤️
It has been so nice seeing students, teachers, bus drivers, crossing guards, and parents frequent this neighborhood throughout the many years.
We will miss you all, and we hope you have an amazing summer! ✨

🚨This just in - TPS sent displacement letters to TPS school librarians, effectively eliminating our school libraries.
We believe school libraries are crucial for student literacy by promoting an interest in reading.
If you believe school libraries are important too, please reach out to TPS leadership and ask them to protect our school libraries.

TPS families were notified today that TPS is eliminating the Advanced Academics/Gifted Program this year, denying gifted students in our district access to this valuable support for academically advanced students.
Last year TPS leadership encouraged parents upset about the elimination of these services for 7th-8th graders to enroll their children in the district's magnet schools. Moving all of the academically advanced students into specialized magnet schools will not only lower test scores for the neighborhood schools, but also deprive students across academic abilities of the opportunity to learn from their academically gifted peers.
Please join us in advocating for continued gifted programming and services for TPS students in neighborhood schools.

As we move through this final month at Harvard Elementary, we’ve been reflecting on all the people and places that have helped make this neighborhood feel like home.
One of the things that has always made this community special is the support we’ve received from the small businesses right here on our block.
Wixey Bakery has been one of those places for us.
Over the years, they’ve helped us welcome teachers back to school, celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, and support PTO events with generous donations of donuts and cookies.
It’s not uncommon to see students walking to school with a Wixey donut in hand or families stopping in after school for a sweet treat together.
And beyond the incredible donuts, cakes, cookies, breads, (and dips, too) what really stands out is their generosity and care for the community.
Small businesses like Wixey are part of what creates a true sense of neighborhood connection. We’re grateful we’ve had the chance to support them over the years, and even more grateful for the many ways they’ve supported our school community in return.
Thank you, Wixey, for being such an important part of the Harvard Elementary story. You’ll always be our favorite bakery. ❤️
