🌟 International Student of the Week: Lakpa “Luna” Sherpa 🇳🇵

Meet Lakpa Sherpa, who also goes by Luna, an international student from Nepal and a recent graduate of the nursing program at the University of Toledo, having earned her degree this May!

A fun fact about Luna? She’s moderately multilingual and speaks five languages. She’s also fluent in Formula 1 🏎️ and describes herself as someone who’s powered by spontaneity and always ready for a new adventure.

Congratulations, Luna, on your graduation and this incredible achievement! We are proud to celebrate your success and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in your nursing career. 🎉💙

Congratulations to Riya Sharma on starting her Summer & Fall 2026 internship at First Solar! ☀️

Riya is gaining valuable hands-on experience in process development and data analysis while applying her classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes!

As part of the Toledo Rowing team, Saakshi has represented the Rockets at regattas while building friendships, confidence, and unforgettable experiences.

Meet Yanden, our International Student of the Week! 🌍

Yanden is from Nepal and is a double major in Finance and Information Systems in the College of Business at The University of Toledo. Growing up surrounded by the Himalayas and Nepal’s strong mountaineering culture, he brings a unique and inspiring background to campus.

At UToledo, Yanden works as a Resident Assistant in a freshman residence hall and as an Admission Ambassador for Undergraduate Admission, where he enjoys connecting with students and sharing his experience as an international student.

Fun fact: Yanden comes from a Sherpa family with a strong mountaineering background. He enjoys hiking and climbing and has climbed several peaks, including Colorado’s fourteeners in the U.S.

Meet Shaun Siby, our International Student of the Week! 🌍

Shaun is from Bangalore, India, also known as the Silicon Valley of India. He graduated in 2021 with a degree in Information Systems and has been part of the UToledo community for over four years.

Beyond academics, Shaun is multi-talented, he plays guitar, sings, dances, skates, and does photography. He has also performed at ISA and ISCO events, sharing his talents with the campus community.

Fun fact: Shaun may be the only student from Bangalore at UToledo! 💙💛
