Toledo Early College High School (TECHS)

Talent Show and Game Night on December 18th, 2012. Make sure to bring one non-perishable food item if you want to go to Game Night after the Talent Show. :)

Picture Day is on Friday, October 5th.
PLAN test for sophomores is on Saturday, October 6.
College Fair is tomorrow from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Everyone is required to stay for at least an hour.

If you attended Music Fest for more than an hour on September 14, 2012, you can have that filled out on your cultural event form, BUT Ms. Storm will NOT take them after this week, so if you have her or not sure whether the other advisory teachers will do the same, make sure you fill it out anyway or ask

The new school year is here: 2012-2013
Mr, Dunham has retired from being a Geometry teacher. A new teacher, Mr. Shawver, will take over the Geometry class. Good luck to those who have Geometry this year!

Also, if you plan to eat at the TECHS Pancake Breakfast on December 20 or just want to get volunteer hours for your parents, be sure to donate food supplies for the breakfast ($10 worth of food = 1 hour volunteer hour) or simply tell your parents to donate their time to help make the breakfast/cleaning up and they will earn their hour(s) based on their service time. Here is the a possible list of things you can donate:
Eggs
Syrup
Bacon (Turkey and Pork)
Beef Sausage Links
Packets of Butter
Orange Juice
Milk
Bottled Water
Paper Plates, Napkins, Plastic Knives, Spoons, Forks, Paper Cups
Cereal Boxes
Fresh Fruit

Phase 2 Food Drive: Currently to January 11, 2011
We need more students to donate a lot more canned and non-perishable food to the food drive to give to the Martin Luther King Kitchen (for the poor). This Food Drive is now another competition between the advisory periods. The advisory that donate the most amount of food will win a pizza lunch. Good luck everyone! :]

Kitchen for the Poor MLK Kitchen for the Poor of Toledo, Ohio feeds anyone who walks through its doors — regardless of race, age, s*x or religious belief.

The Food Drive competition between Ohio State and Michigan have ended. Though Michigan won the game this year, Ohio State fans at TECHS have beaten Michigan fans in the Food Drive!

Poetry Out Loud classroom competition is on December 16 and 17 for all freshmen and sophomores. The school competition is on January 27. Any juniors or seniors can choose to participate if they have the time. ;)

Thanksgiving Break is almost over. Hope you guys had a great time and relaxed over the 5-days break. :)
