We are excited to have you join our program and begin your journey towards making a difference in the lives of future students.

This class is o”FISH”ally seniors!!!!! Class of 2027 🐟🐠🐡🎣 I’m already excited for their senior year! ☀️

We had an amazing time visiting Adrian College with our juniors and seniors!

From exploring the beautiful campus to engaging in interactive activities, our students got a firsthand look at college life. The best part? Connecting with current students and staff who made the experience so welcoming and meaningful.

Last week, I had the opportunity to take some of my Teaching Professions students to Bowling Green State University for the Educators of Color Panel.

The panel included incredible teachers and administrators from Washington Local Schools and Toledo Public Schools who shared their real experiences working in education across Northwest Ohio. It was powerful for my students to hear honest stories about the challenges, successes, and impact educators can have in their communities.

What made me the most proud was watching my students confidently participate in a space that was primarily designed for college students. They asked thoughtful, insightful questions and represented our program so well.

Moments like this remind me why I love what I do—seeing future educators step into professional spaces, engage in meaningful conversations, and begin to see themselves as part of the profession.

So proud of my juniors! They are now CPR and First Aid certified and ready to help when it matters most. The mannequins survived… and the class may have gotten a little goofy by the end, but learning life-saving skills should be memorable!

So incredibly proud of our Whitmer Teaching Professions students who competed at the Ohio Educators Rising State Conference!

Their hard work, creativity, and passion for education truly paid off, and they are officially National Qualifiers! Watching these students grow into future educators — and someday even colleagues — is one of the best parts of this program.

I can’t wait to see what they accomplish next at Nationals! Portland, Oregon here we come!!!!
