Our staff and volunteers did an absolutely AMAZING job this school year. Between programs, this group served over 1,200 Toledo area students. From literacy to mentorship to career readiness, the impact they have made in our community is immense- and just keeps growing!

Today is the last day of Mentors in Toledo Schools programming this year!

Looking back on the work we have done with our staff, volunteers, supporters, and all our partners, we feel so proud and hopeful! With 14 schools served, 961 students mentored, and over 21,000 mentoring sessions completed, together we are closing the literacy gap for Toledo students.

Thank you to The University of Toledo and UToledo Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education for spending time with our College and Career Ready, Set, Go! students as we visited campus!

After being greeted by UT admissions, and getting a tour of campus, they went to the English department, where they got a demonstration in the print lab and learned about creating books, from scrolls to the printing press!

We learned a lot about the education required for careers like Surgical Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, HVAC Technicians, Dental Assistants, and much more! It was great to get some hands on experience guided by professionals and talk to college staff about the all the great access students can have to financial and career assistance.
