Engineering looked a little different in the 1970s.

Students worked at drafting tables instead of CAD stations, carried slide rules instead of laptops and relied on hand calculations long before modern simulation software existed.

Some things have changed over the last 50 years. One thing remains the same: Rocket engineers get the job done. 🚀

This week, UToledo summer campers got an up-close look at our Formula SAE vehicle and learned how engineering students turn ideas into a competition-ready car.

Alumni, what was your favorite co-op? What is one thing you learned that you've carried with you?

Yes, we already miss the Class of 2026 and yes, we know how cool they were, but we are ready to welcome the Class of 2030. 🎓

Here is what we know about them:

🚀 They are part of the Generation Z and Generation Alpha overlap, often called “Zalpha.”
🚀 They were born around 2008, the same year the first iPhone App Store launched.
🚀 They have never known a world without Instagram.
🚀 They are one of the most entrepreneurial generations yet, with many already running small businesses before college.
