Nice Rump 😏 White-Rumped Sandpiper that is! Got some great looks at this guy foraging in the shallow water. They are a bit tricky to identify when far away. But if you see them up close, look for long wingtips that go past the tail. In flight, look for pure white rump stripe that goes across the whole tail. You can kind of see his white rump in a few of the preening pictures I got. Enjoy! Pictures taken 8/30/23 at Howard Marsh Metropark.
