Join us this Friday morning, July 17 at the UToledo Center for Performing Arts for "What a Zoo!" - an original play created during our 2026 Inclusive Performing Arts Summer Camp. It's free!

About the Show
It was created by middle and high school students with disabilities, with support from faculty, students from the Disability Studies program, the Department of Theatre and Film, and our community partner, OpenSpot Theatre.

In this camp, students have learned the fundamentals of performing arts, such as stage direction, blocking and choreography while writing and starring in their own show! They also learned from faculty experts about all the technical parts that make theatre possible, from lighting to costumes to set design. The camp is designed to be adaptive and inclusive for all students.

The project showcases the power of local collaboration, hands-on student opportunity, and the growing impact of film in our community.

Graduating Saturday, May 2, Abby Papenfus is ready to pursue a career in stage management after earning her bachelor of arts degree in theatre with a minor in communication.
