TPS elementary school families.

Reminder: All TPS elementary schools will be on a two-hour delayed start next Friday, October 17, to allow teachers to complete first-quarter reports and grades. This schedule change means:
· All elementary schools will begin classes two hours later than the normal start time.
· Students who normally receive bus transportation will have their morning transportation delayed by two hours.
· Dismissal will be at the regular time.

* No breakfast will be served

High school students will follow their regular schedule.

This year, Every Day Matters! Students, when you are at school, you grow, learn new skills, and build lasting friendships. Think of your future and make every day count by showing up to school. Attendance matters!

As you know, TPS is transitioning to become a cell phone-free school district. Starting the first day of school, each high school student will receive an assigned Yondr pouch and learn how the bags work. Research indicates that cell phone-free spaces improve student focus and academic outcomes. Yondr's approach has positively impacted other schools in promoting student well-being and academic success.

We understand that questions may arise, particularly regarding emergency communication. We want you to know that the main office will remain the central point of contact for parents and guardians who need to reach their child during the school day. Messages can be relayed through the office, and students will always have access to school phones for urgent family matters.

Administrators will outline the full expectations and consequences regarding Yondr bag usage during the first week of school, ensuring clarity and consistency for all students. We encourage every student to embrace this opportunity to disconnect from digital distractions and truly be present in their learning journey.
