π±π₯ Growing More Than Vegetables at Marshall STEMM! πΆοΈπ±
While touring some of our community partners around the building today, we happened to come upon Mrs. Hernandez and her sixth graders hard at work in the gardens!
Students were digging for potatoes, picking peppers, and planting seeds (we believe peas! π«). What a perfect reminder that gardening, sustainability, and hands-on learning are woven into the lives of our students from the moment they enter our building until the day they leave.
Our hope is that the skills they develop here β growing food, caring for the environment, working together, and understanding where our food comes from β are skills they carry with them into the real world. ππ
And, of course, I can't wait for my invitation to the party where we get to EAT what they harvested! π
Right now, the sixth graders are voting on the most important question of the day:
π₯ **French fries or vegetable soup?**
Stay tunedβ¦ the sixth-grade garden-to-table decision is still pending! π±π©βπΎπ¨βπΎ
