Our 2022 Butterflies for Scholarships fundraising campaign starts today! 🎉
Butterflies for Scholarships 🦋📚 is an annual fundraising campaign where you receive a commemorative butterfly in return for a $50 minimum donation to the Janet Phleger Foundation. Since this campaign began in 2015, we have created a new butterfly design every year to make each campaign extra special.
This year’s butterfly was personally designed by a local artist and board member. Each butterfly has its own unique color pattern and comes with a 2022 Janet Phleger Foundation charm. These are perfect gifts for your loved ones, or make a beautiful decoration for your home.

We are truly grateful to the Toledo Technology Academy for the generous donation and for Alejandro Ramirez for making it possible!! 🎉😊
At TTA, freshman Alejandro Ramirez took it upon himself to organize dress-down days during the exam week to benefit the Janet Phleger Foundation. The Foundation provides college scholarships to Toledo area high school graduates with a parent who is diagnosed with cancer. TTA students raised $500 to support the cause. This money was collected by Jen Bouwer, the founder of the foundation, last week.
TTA teacher, Katie Asmus, who helped facilitate the fundraising, states, "I am so proud of Alex for coming to me to organize these donation days. He was incredibly well spoken with Ms. Brouwer and is a positive role model for his peers at TTA."
