Glass City Wranglers Launch Official Professional Dance Team: Glass City Gemz Under the Direction of Tanisha Shelmon

Toledo, OH – The Glass City Wranglers are proud to announce the formation of their official professional dance team, the Glass City Gemz, led by accomplished dancer and instructor Tanisha Shelmon.

Tanisha began dancing at the age of six with a passion for Ballet, later expanding into competitive Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Tap. A graduate of St. Ursula Academy, she continued her career on the University of Cincinnati “Bearcat” Dance Team, before moving on to perform professionally with the WNBA Detroit Shock “Shockwave” and the NBA Detroit Pistons “Automotion” dance teams. After her professional career, Tanisha returned to Toledo to co-found Touch A Dream Dance Studio with her mother, Terri Shelmon, training dancers in Ballet, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and more.

“Our game day experience is about more than just basketball—it’s about creating energy, entertainment, and community,” said Josh Radtkin, Team Market Owner/CEO of the Glass City Wranglers. “With Tanisha’s leadership, the Glass City Gemz will elevate our game day operations, give fans an unforgettable show, and create opportunities for local athletes to chase their dreams—just as Tanisha did at the NBA and WNBA level. This is another major step forward as we move downtown to the Glass City Center.”
