Help shape the future of walking and biking in our region! TMACOG is developing a Regional Active Transportation Plan to improve sidewalks, bike lanes, and non-motorized travel options — and we want to hear from you!

Stop by Mott Library, tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m. to share your input and help build a safer, more connected transportation network across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

Initiative launching to combat distracted driving following death of local cyclist Toledo Area Bicyclists (TAB) will launch a campaign to combat distracted driving following the death of Roseann Peiffer, a local cyclist who died after being hit by a distracted driver.

Dan loves volunteering in the community. He tutors children through school and community programs and is the chair of outreach at the church where he was once a pastor. When he started biking at a young age, it was a way for him and his buddies to get around. Now, it’s a way to help guide his wife through the streets. His wife had a stroke which impaired her vision. To help her to continue riding, they use a tandem bike so he can be her eyes and assist with steering. Dan prefers to ride on the street over a recreational bike path so he doesn’t have to deal with the risk of cars pulling out of their driveways without seeing him and potentially hitting him.

More Than Cyclist Kalamazoo materials were produced by the “Wheels of Change” first-year seminar at Kalamazoo College, in partnership with More than a cyclist in the UK, and ModeShift Kalamazoo. My first Downtown Atlanta adventure to IKEA, what an awesome ride! I had increased the damper resistance to compensate for urban riding and that must have loosened the mount. Hats off to Abdul at IKEA Atlantic Station that found the right tool and helped me fix it...more than a furniture store!

So this is my new Kroger, complete with Dero Fix-it Station! Note to self, needs pump repair!
