Bowsher students welcomed us back next school year. They appreciated all the knowledge they gained through the program.

This week our Peer Educators and Mentors presented at Rogers High School. They talked to classes of students about goals, delaying parenting, and the importance of completing their education. Students engaged with our presenters, listened intently, and made their own goals for the future. Next week the program travels to Bowsher High School. Wish them luck as they continue to share important information.

These Peer Educators did it again. They presented the No Kidding Ohio Lucas County RAISE Program to UT Upward Bound Students.. We also had Central, Notre Dame and St. Ursula students in the audience. We had a great time.

Today the No Kidding Ohio Lucas County RAISE program was presented to the staff at Zeph Center. The staff had a great time learning the 3 ways to establish paternity, the high cost of child support and heard one of the Peer Educators share her personal story of being a young mother. They learned how to interact and guide their teenager whether it be a child/grandchild/niece or nephew. The staff learned how to navigate through establishing paternity and the benefits of establishing paternity.

This message needs to be heard by all teenagers and we are here to schedule a presentation at your convenience. This program is free of charge, we can do presentations during the day or evening. We can present at any local library or at any community agency. Please contact Anita Prielipp at 419-213-3183 to schedule a presentation.

The Zeph Center Staff would agree parents and teens can benefit by hearing this presentation. We had a great time!

I recommend this programming for all area young people in Lucas County; especially those aged 14-26. The message is powerful to abstain from parenthood until you are emotionally and financially prepared. Schools, community groups, church youth groups and programs serving our youth throughout the county would benefits from the No Kidding Ohio curriculum. It’s a message that must be shared across all socioeconomic statuses as no class is immune to pregnancies among our youth. You will not be disappointed in the impact this program will have.

The Peer Educator Educators have been working hard on healing their trauma to stand tall and proud. They are also learning leadership and public speaking tools. I am honored to lead this program.

October 6th was our first presentation and the Peer Educators delivered the curriculum with strength, vulnerabilty and their truth. They shared their own struggles of being a young parent, healthy vs unhealthy relationships and setting goals for YOURSELF! The Upward Bound 10th grade students, walked away with a message of wait to have children. 💝

They emphasized the success sequence which is: finish your education, start a career and be in a healthy relationship all before becoming a young parent.
