Stephens County High School welcomed Kevin Atlas to SCHS last week. He challenged our students to think differently about their circumstances, their choices, and the legacy they will leave behind.

Kevin reminded us that our circumstances do not define us and our future is not something we depend on someone else to create for us. We each have a responsibility to take ownership of our story, make intentional choices, overcome obstacles, and decide what kind of legacy we want to leave.

That message aligns perfectly with what it means to be ALL IN for ALL. We don't wait for someone else to make our school, our community, or our future better. We each have a role to play.

Thank you, Kevin, for reminding our Indians that our circumstances may be part of our story, but they don't get to write the ending.

We watched many of our students be inspired and we are ready to put his message into action! There will be a Legacy Leadership meeting at 7:15 am on Wednesday in the Legacy Room for all students who are inspired to lead a legacy at SCHS! If your bus arrives after 7:15 am, stop by when you get to school. Let's see what legacy you all create!

Congratulations to Maelynne White who was selected to serve on the state’s Student Advisory Council.

Congratulations to the 85 students selected from 1,427 applicants to serve on State School Superintendent Richard Woods' 2026-2027 Student Advisory Council! 🎉

Throughout the school year, council members will share their experiences, discuss education-related issues, and provide feedback on how state policies affect Georgia students. They will also serve as ambassadors and complete service projects benefiting their schools and communities.

A historic high for Stephens County Schools! -Our 2026 graduation rate is 96.9%, surpassing last year’s record of 96.1% and exceeding both the Pioneer RESA average of 95.6% and Georgia’s statewide rate of 88.5%.

This achievement belongs to our graduates and to the families, teachers, and staff who supported them along the way. Congratulations, Class of 2026!
