The Learning Tree Academy is a full-service childcare center located just off of Highway 17 in Toccoa, Georgia.

Locally owned and operated for 25 years, The Learning Tree Academy provides programs for children ages six weeks to eight years. With the motto of "Where Learning and Loving Go Hand in Hand", The Learning Tree Academy remains a place where children are provided the opportunity to develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially in a nurturing environment.

As we enjoy the warmth of summer here at LTA, we find ourselves reflecting on the wonderful school year we shared at The Outdoor Learning School. One of the highlights was celebrating the graduation of our very first 5th-grade class, a truly special milestone for our community!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the students, teachers, parents, and everyone who has played a role in shaping OLS into the vibrant school it is today. We feel so blessed and are thankful for your support in partnering with us on your child’s educational journey.

As we look forward to the future, we pray that God continues to work through our school, guiding us to glorify Him in all that we do. We hope everyone is having a fantastic summer filled with joy and relaxation!

A huge shout-out goes to The Point Church for adopting LTA this past year! Your care packages, coffee, and tasty treats brought so much joy to our teachers and made their days brighter. We’re so grateful for your support! 🙌

We love witnessing our students thrive atThe Learning Tree Academy and The Outdoor Learning School. Our students are not just planting gardens for healthy habits and delicious snacks; they are also applying math skills through hands-on activities.

While it may seem like they’re simply reading under a tree, or presenting to their class, they are actually engaging in peer-based learning opportunities, fostering confidence, collaboration, and a love for learning along the way.

And on Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting our first “GLO-LS” end-of-year celebration for our older OLS students. It was a fantastic time and a wonderful way to acknowledge the achievements of the year.

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow for more adventures!

Today our LTA and OLS teachers had some fun with "Rhyme Without Reason Day!"

They dressed up as rhyming words that may not connect in any logical way, but certainly brought a lot of smiles and laughter to our classrooms! The students were quick to catch on and had a blast guessing the silly pairings.

This week, we celebrated Read Across America Week, highlighting the joy of reading and the importance of literacy. Dr. Seuss, a beloved author, inspired our festivities as students engaged with his whimsical stories.

Each day featured themed dress-up, allowing our students to creatively express themselves while diving into different literary themes. Our classrooms were filled with excitement as we explored Dr. Seuss’s quirky characters and discussed the significance of reading in connecting with diverse cultures across America.

We are grateful for the chance to come together as a community to celebrate learning and reading!

✨🌲 Weekly Recap from The Learning Tree Academy and The Outdoor Learning School 🌲✨

We had another awesome week at The Learning Tree Academy and The Outdoor Learning School. Here’s a little bit about what we got up to:

Bridge Talks:
Our OLS 1st and 2nd graders had a fun chat about how to share the bridge in their villages. It was all about teamwork and communication—skills that are super important as they learn to work together!

Playful Learning:
Our 2-year-olds got creative with play dough! This activity helped them boost their fine motor skills while having a blast.

Science Adventures:
The 5th graders turned into scientists as they experimented with electromagnets. It was a great way for them to dive into STEM concepts and spark their curiosity!

Poem Contest Winner:
A big shoutout to Izaih Torres, our 5th-grade poem contest winner! His poem was fantastic, showing just how important self-expression and creativity are.

Reading Buddies:
OLS students had a great time reading to their LTA buddies. It was a lovely way to build connections and help the younger kids with their reading skills.

And everyone enjoyed a festive and fun ! Thanks for being part of our week! We can’t wait for more fun adventures ahead!

🌿 Community Support Day at The Outdoor Learning School🌿

Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to host Leadership Toccoa’s Community Support Day, a day dedicated to building unity and support within our vibrant community. This initiative is all about empowering individuals to make positive contributions through meaningful relationships, accessible resources, and education.

During this inspiring day, participants engaged in various activities designed to highlight the specific needs of our community. By identifying where resources are lacking and recognizing gaps that need to be filled, everyone gained valuable insights into how they can step up and make a real difference. It’s all about understanding our community better so we can effectively address those needs!
