Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center is an experiential learning opportunity for all ages, located in the Appalachian foothills.

In this age of consumerism and natural resource consumption and degradation, it is no wonder that national and state parks are overflowing with people and families escaping the craziness of their lives. We find relief in rediscovering ourselves in natural surroundings. The harmony that is so evident in nature contrasts with the frequent discord of our lives. If only we could realize our place within the whole….. Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center offers students of all ages the chance to see and touch the processes at work in the world around us and to get a sense of their special place in that system through environmental education. We regard environmental education as a process of opening awareness and gaining knowledge of our world. Building on this philosophy, we teach critical thinking and problem-solving skills to challenge learners to grow into active citizens and conscious stewards of the land that nourishes us all. These are ambitious goals, but we think our children and our beautiful land are worth the effort. And here at Blue Ridge, it is easy to believe that it is paying off. Immersed in 480 beautiful acres, owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, this is a place where nature touches all of your senses in its warm embrace. We invite you to explore the natural surroundings, to participate in our programs and to discover more about yourself here at Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center, where education happens in "Nature's classroom."

We had a blast playing outside with Mary Lin Elementary this week! They braved our cable crossing on Trek, worked together to build burma bridges, and practiced their meteorologist skills by helping us collect weather data! We can't wait to see Mary Lin again next year!
