What an awesome day we had when the heavens declared the glory of God during the eclipse. We shared the special event with about 70 people, almost 50 students, and 20 adults. God truly blessed us with some new friends from Linn Lutheran, Linn, KS, along with a Michigan teacher and her 3 sons who shared their handiwork with us to view the eclipse. We also appreciated all the people from Zion who came to share the big day with us as well.

God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble; therefore we will not fear Psalm 46:1-2. This is the theme for this upcoming school year at Zion Lutheran School, Tobias, NE. August 18 is our opening day, dismissing at 11:30.

Monday, August 21, we will enjoy the awesome
Solar Eclipse with Linn Lutheran, Linn, KS. Together with their 40 students we will observe what God can do as the moon totally covers the sun. "Great is our God, and greatly to be praised." Anyone who does not have a place to enjoy this miraculous event is welcome to join us here at Zion. Bring your own chairs.

Along with the students in our elementary school we welcome our Pre-school students who will be joining Mrs. Endorf after Labor Day.

We continue to welcome any families looking for a Christ-Centered education for their children. Each subject is taught based on what God's Word teaches and promises.

May God bless all students returning to school during this week. May He give them the refuge and strength found in His Word, the Bible.

Zion Lutheran School, Tobias, NE is joining Lutheran schools across the country to celebrate Jesus our Rock of Ages during Lutheran Schools Week (Jan. 22-28). Many of the schools are celebrating their history by collecting stories from former students. We thought this would be a great way to teach our current and future students that Christ is faithful yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Please comment on this page to leave your Zion Lutheran School memory! Thank you. ~Zion PTL

What an exciting week we had last week as we were able to say "Thank You" to our veterans at the Western Veteran's Day Ceremony. The girls and boys took turns reciting poems about veterans and thanking them. We also sang "God Bless Our Native Land" and "Be Strong and Courageous." During the rest of the ceremony we heard Lyle Bartels give an address about what makes a person great. Of course, it is our service men and women. It was an honor to be part of the ceremony.
This week we look forward to a visit from Bob Ziegler, our DIstrict Education Executive from the NE District LCMS office.
Then on Friday we will be able to say "Thank You to our Pen Pals. They are very special to us and it will be lots of fun to serve them our annual Thanksgiving meal of Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and desert. We wish them a very special Thanksgiving and want to let them know we how much we love them.
Also, congratulations to the Lady Meridian Mustangs for a job well done at State Volleyball. May God continue to bless all of you with a successful year as His children both on the court, in school, and in your whole life.

In July, teacher Judy Bartels spent a week at Akjachak, Alaska, enjoying VBS and basketball camp. The Alaska mission team was blessed tremendously on this venture and Zion students will learn more about the experience this fall!
