💜💛 It's almost that time again! The OHS Class of 78 will gather for our annual get together on Friday, October 2. We will gather at the Parrot Island Grill. There will be a $5 charge since other classes will be meeting there for their reunions. I ( Cindi Van Sciten Stevens) will get there as soon as I can since I'll be at the game with Clay's class of 77 since it's their 50th.

I hope to see you there! If you don't mind, please let me know you will be attending Parrot Island. I need to give them a number so they can prepare. All costs will be self pay! 💜💛

Our classmate, Karen Wheeling Browning, passed away last night after an extended battle with cancer. 💜💛

We had our annual Class of 78 get together at Tin Fish last night! 16 of us gathered along with the class of 76 who was having their 50th reunion! We were happy to have Ms. Carlton and Mrs. Jennie Zinc Godwin. It was a hopping, buzzing place and a good time was had by all! (not pictured but attended, Nadine Raulerson Hemingway, Ken Osteen and Pam Thomas Gilliland)

It's that time again, our annual get-together! We'll be gathering at Tin Fish again this year on Friday, October 3 (that's Homecoming night). We have reserved an area from 6:30 to 10:00 PM. Please tell anyone from our class if you see them. I won't be sending out postcards. We hope to see you there!

Craig Cobern Hoffman, 64

Craig Cobern Hoffman died December 23, 2024. He was born February 23, 1960 in Okeechobee, Florida. Born and raised in Okeechobee, he was a lifetime resident and loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Hoffman was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth Hoffman; and sister, Belva Barrus.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Donna Hoffman; daughters, Natalie Bolen (Lee), of Tallahassee, Florida, and Lindsey Sarros (James), of Okeechobee, Florida; three grandchildren, Audrey Bolen, Andrew Bolen, and Jackson Sarros; and sisters, Betty Rucks, of Okeechobee, Florida, Donna Schultheiss, of Victoria, Texas, and Carla Crawford, of Sebring, Florida.

No services will be held at this time.

The Okeechobee High School Class of 1978 will be observing our 50 reunion in 2027. That's just 3 years from now! When we met last week, we talked about doing a weekend cruise instead of having a weekend event in Okeechobee. I'd love to hear your thoughts. If it's a possibility, you can start saving now and be sure you have a passport. It would be to the Bahamas. Comment below!
