BSN BOYS BASKETBALL: ASTRONAUT WAR EAGLES GO BACK-TO-BACK, POWER THROUGH DISTRICT TO CLAIM STATE BERTH

Astronaut didn’t sneak into district week playing good basketball — they stormed in playing their best.

Winners of seven of their last eight games, the War Eagles carried that momentum straight through the bracket, surviving a one-point semifinal battle with Cocoa before turning the district championship into a statement.

Against an upstart Space Coast team that had already made program history by winning its first two district tournament games ever, Astronaut took control early. The War Eagles led 28–20 at halftime, pushed the margin to 44–29 after three quarters, and then slammed the door shut.

Over the final eight minutes, Astronaut left nothing to chance as they poured in 26 fourth-quarter points. Relentless pressure that left no doubt.

The result was a dominant 31-point championship win and a second straight district title — but the trophy only tells part of the story.

This was win-or-go-home basketball.

Entering the tournament ranked No. 14 in FHSAA Class 3A Region 2, Astronaut knew there was only one way to keep its season alive: win the district championship.

No at-large cushion. No scoreboard watching.
No math.

Just win and that’s exactly what the War Eagles did.

Now comes the next test.

Astronaut will slide into the No. 8 and final seed in the region, setting up a daunting road matchup with top-seeded Lake Highland Prep, a 26–1 powerhouse ranked No. 4 in the entire state by the FHSAA.

The opponent is elite. The stage is unforgiving. The margin is gone.

But this Astronaut team has already proven something important.

When the pressure is absolute, they don’t blink. They rise.

Back-to-back district champions. Season extended.
Mission accomplished — and the journey isn’t over yet.

The War Eagles did not post stats from this game and have only one games worth posted for entire season.
