On April 19, 2026 more than 100 faculty, staff, students, friends, and relations attended the 2026 NESA-SE Graduation ceremony for this year's 47 graduates at the USAF Vigilant Warrior training center.

Hosted by Lt Col Harvey Yarborough, NESA-SE Course Director, the guest speakers for the event were Brig Gen R. Jason Bailey, CAP Vice Commander, and Col Roxanne T. Toy, USAF Officer Training School Commandant.

Also in attendance were Col R. Brian Williams, ALWG Commander; Col Michael Willis, GAWG Commander; Lt Col Christopher Ferguson, CAP-USAF; and Lt Col Kim Miller, ALWG Vice Commander.

Since 1997, NESA Southeast has conducted a multi-weekend, in-depth emergency services training program for Civil Air Patrol members. It is not the same as the National Emergency Services Academy at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, and does not qualify participants for the NCSA ribbon Civil Air Patrol. The program is designed to provide advanced, hands-on training in a variety of emergency services disciplines.

Heart of Dixie Team,

Per the CAP National Operations Center, if the U.S. Government shutdown does occur; CAP is funded through 01 March 26. This means CAP NAT HQ operations and staff will continue to operate and all funded missions may continue as planned. After the 01 March 26 date, if the shutdown continues, we may see a reduction in CAP National HQs Staff operations.

N.B. This notification may or may not impact other external ALWG support missions to outside agencies. No word yet on how the shutdown will impact CAP-USAF. This update is also subject to change.
