Tipton Adaptive Daycare Daycare is CLOSED We also provide services for children with behavioral or psychological needs. We keep working hard to continue improving our center every day.

Tipton Adaptive Daycare offers care for children with special medical needs or disabilities in an integrated environment with their typically-developing peers. Though the daycare is considered a special needs daycare, many of the children that attend the daycare do not have special needs. Our program philosophy is based the belief that children benefit from more from learning how to do things for

on their own than from having things done for them. Our program focuses on development of executive function skills and self-regulation, which builds strong foundations for school readiness and success through their lifetimes. We do this through play-based learning, child-directed activities, embedded learning opportunities and quality interactions with our highly trained staff. Our mission is to provide high quality child care that incorporates the unique needs of each child to maximize each child's progress toward independent functioning in self-help, social, cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, self-regulation and communication skills. We have the highest trained and experienced staff in the area. All of our lead teachers have at least an associate degree, and our staff has a combined 95 years of experience in education, health care, child care and disability services.

If you're wondering what happened to Mrs.V after TAD closed, she is now the Child Care Nurse Consultant for Johnson County Public Health. She now serves about 180 childcare programs.

Johnson County, Iowa has a variety of resources available for county residents, from information about upcoming elections to places to report county road issues that need to be fixed.

State Invests in Iowa Families; Launches New Child Care Initiatives
Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is infusing funding into a comprehensive set of child care initiatives that focus on supporting Iowa families, quality care delivery and attracting and retaining child care workforce.
Highlights of the initiatives include:

Increasing “front door” eligibility for Child Care Assistance (CCA) from 145% to 155%. This will provide more families with low income access to CCA subsidy, increasing the hourly wage for initial eligibility from $17.40 to $18.60
Increasing the payments child care facilities receive when serving CCA families.
In a two-year pilot project, full-time child care facility employees will be categorically eligible for CCA, regardless of income.
