Good morning, Classmates. Finally some good news! Mike Herring sent me these pictures of the 2 pavers at the Freedom Rock that our class decided to purchase in honor of: 1) our class; 2) two deceased veterans in our class. Mike checked with all families of deceased veterans, and these are the 2 who chose to commemorate their loved ones with pavers. The other 2 pictures are views of the greatly increased footprint, which includes an additional 175-200 pavers for future purchases and engraving. I'm sure more information will be forthcoming.

Thanks to the Freedom Rock Committee for the fantastic work they've done, and to Mike for suggesting this at our 50-year reunion. Oh...and let's not forget our classmates who voted to use our funds to honor the veterans. The class of '74 rocks!

Okay people. It should not be a secret whether or not you are coming to the all school reunion next week. We'd really like to know who will be there. What say you?

Greetings, classmates. I'm passing along a message from the THS 100 committee. How many of you are planning to attend all or part of the activities on August 9th?

Classmates,
Time is drawing near for the 100-year reunion and banquet. I have heard from some of you and suspect many others are unable to attend for a variety of reasons. You are forgiven and missed, I hope this finds you well.

The last day for receiving reservations is Thursday July 31 so we can make final plans. You can still reserve by sending $25 to THS 100, PO Box 24, Tipton, IA 52772.

We have a full day of activities planned beginning with a 9AM veteran's recognition at the Freedom Rock. Other activities include: 10-noon a tour of the old jail, 10-1PM a visit to the library for cookies and a drink to celebrate 125 years, 10-noon Red Oak church will be receiving visitors, 10-2PM Cedar County Historical Museum and site is open for your enjoyment, 2-4PM tours and a program in the high school auditorium (air conditioned).

The banquet at the fairgrounds begins at 4PM. A social hour followed by a meal with dinner music, a program from 7-8PM with Joe Manatrey as emcee. At 8PM you can stay for more conversation or head to the Red Pin Lounge for a free dance and bowling from 8-11PM.

Follow us at Tipton High School 100 Yr Celebration.

Hope to see you there.
Your THS 100 committee

What would Tipton do without Mike Goetz and Family Foods?

While grocery stores, especially in smaller communities, have struggled to survive, Tipton Family Foods is thriving.
