Cyrus Keene’s SAE is diversified horticulture. He is currently working on raising and selling different varieties of pumpkins for the fall. This experience is giving him hands-on experience in production, marketing, and the many challenges that come with running an agricultural enterprise. His SAE has also given him the opportunity out to work alongside his mom with Flowers on Phoenix

Through these experiences, Cyrus has developed skills in pest management, w**d control, heritage seeds, and compost utilization. His operation does not rely on chemical pesticides, so Cyrus has learned to think creatively and utilize natural methods to protect his crops. One example is using lavender barriers to help deter insects and deer. 🎃🌻

We’ve got dinner ready for this weekend. Bacon Cheddar Burgers ready for the grill. Quarter pound patties. Ground beef mixed with award winning bacon and cheddar cheese. Four patties per package. Asking $10.

We have another alumni spotlight!! The state fair is one of Taylor Tuttle’s time to shine! ✨⭐️ If you make it to the agriculture building make sure and stop by and say hi. They put in a lot time and effort to showcase Missouri’s homegrown products!!!

Soon, the shelves will be filed with locally made products, delicious treats, and unique finds from businesses across Missouri!

August 10th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm will be state fair project drop-off at school. Mrs. Twenter will also be there building floral arrangements with students. Please let her know if you want to enter a floral arrangement at the state fair! They will be $10 an arrangement. 💐

All state fair entries do go towards state degree points! 🤗
