January is Braille Awareness Month, and we're celebrating the incredible impact of Braille literacy! When students master Braille, they gain access to:

We’re excited to share that the ISVI Opening Doors/Parent Infant Program is happening May 31–June 3, 2026, at the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville, IL! This special event is designed for Illinois parents or guardians and their children (birth to age six) with vision loss or blindness.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together in a supportive community. Registration will open soon—stay tuned!

One of our students said her dream was to see Darci Lynne live. (Confession: I had no clue who that was! She pulled up her iPad and showed me — Darci won America’s Got Talent 7 years ago for her ventriloquist act. So cool!)

So we made it happen. We grabbed my little partner in crime (my nephew 💙) and surprised her with VIP seats AND a meet & greet with the amazing Darci Lynne herself!

The joy, the giggles, the pure excitement — it was everything. Darci was so sweet, took a million pics, and even gave our student her address to write Braille letters.

This is why we do what we do. Making a difference beyond the classroom — every student, every family, every moment that matters.
