🚨 Federal Action Alert
Tomorrow, July 30, Congress will consider legislation to reverse interagency agreements that would move key education programs, including the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Moving these programs across federal agencies could fragment oversight, create inconsistent requirements, burden schools and districts, and weaken protections for students with disabilities.

IDEA (The Individuals with Disabilities Act) is an education law, not a healthcare law. Take action today and urge your representatives to keep IDEA and OSERS within the U.S. Department of Education - where it belongs.

The American Association of People with Disabilities has an easily fillable form to tell your members of congress to take a stand and defend inclusive, high-quality public education for all students:

The state of Illinois has launched new voluntary Blue Envelope Program which allows autistic drivers to keep their license, registration and insurance information in an easily identifiable envelope. It also provides guidance to help both the driver and law enforcement navigate the interaction with greater understanding.

It’s a simple tool with an important purpose: reducing uncertainty, supporting communication and creating safer interactions for everyone.

This is a win for accessibility, understanding and safer communities across Illinois!

Learn more from ABC7 Chicago:

The program is designed to reduce stress for drivers with autism and help officers better understand how to handle the traffic stop.

A big step forward for accessibility at the Friendly Confines!

Wrigley Field has become the first Major League Baseball ballpark to earn the designation of Certified Autism Center. At least 80% of guest-facing staff completed autism and sensory training, adding to existing supports such as a sensory room, sensory bags, assistive listening technology, and closed captioning.

Accessibility and inclusion training matters!

Wrigley Field is now the first Major League Baseball Park to be considered a Certified Autism Center.
