Grandparents Day is October 9, and we need our Tinley Park families to help make it happen. First, we're asking families to sign up to bring in supplies or donations toward the cost of the catered meal. We can't pull this day off without everyone's help here. Second, if you're able to give your time the day of, we have a volunteer sign up too, with a few different spots to choose from. Sign-up links are coming soon. Middle School Food and Football Night is coming to CCHS. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders from Oak Lawn and Tinley Park are invited to join us on Friday, October 16, from 5:30 to 9:30pm. We'll serve pizza and cheer on the CCHS Knights varsity football team together. Registration is required since we're serving food and coordinating drop-off and pick-up. One hundred years. Chicago Christian has been part of the Chicago Southland for a century, and the thing that has not changed in all that time is the reason we are here. Every generation of students has been known, valued, and sent out to do something with what they were given. Grandparents who walked these halls now watch grandchildren do the same. That is not nostalgia. It is a foundation. The next hundred years start with the students in our classrooms right now. Honoring yesterday. Immeasurably more for tomorrow.

The Guardian Knights have taken the field. This fall, 25 sixth through eighth graders are playing baseball together as part of our community athletics program, made up of students from Chicago Christian, Calvin, and our neighboring communities. A few games in, our young athletes are developing their skills, competing with excellence, and learning what it means to guard their hearts, on and off the field. This is what Guardian Knights was built for. Open doors, top-tier coaching, and a program rooted in faith and community. We've already had families ask about a spring season. Our fifth graders led chapel this week and introduced the throughline of Order Discovering. They walked through the ways God's order shows up in creation, from the spirals in sunflowers and pinecones to the swirl of a hurricane to the shape of our own ears. The point was simple. Things don't just happen randomly. As their teacher Lora DeVries put it, "God reminds us of that in creation. We are thankful that God has a plan for us, and we can trust him." Thank you to our fifth graders for leading us well.
