Planning ahead for next school year just got a little easier. McAuliffe families now have the opportunity to order pre-packaged school supply kits through School Tool Box. Each box is customized to your child’s grade level supply list and ships directly to the school for pickup before the start of the year.

Ordering is available now through July 5th. Supply pickup at McAuliffe will take place on August 18, 2026.

Thank you for helping our Challengers start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

The day finally arrived where our students got to give Mr. Hanley a bean bath in celebration of all of their hard work reading throughout the year. It was a fun assembly filled with celebration, reflection on the growth our students made this year, and an exciting bean dump for ten lucky students. We also ended the year with one more challenge: next year, beginning this summer, we are aiming for 2 million minutes of reading. Have a great summer, keep reading, and don’t forget to log those minutes!

We had a lot going on at McAuliffe today. First, congratulations to Mrs. Herbert/Mrs. Rueck’s class for knocking Mrs. Wazny’s class off the Top Bean stand this week.

We also enjoyed our kindergarten show and picnic, the 5th grade picnic, a 4th grade glow party, and an incredibly creative Anything But a Backpack Day from our students. It was one of those days that truly highlighted the energy and personality of our school community.

We are looking forward to our final week together as a school community for the 2025–2026 school year.

📚 Summer Reading is Coming!

Miss Sam from the Tinley Park Public Library visited McAuliffe today to share details about the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge (June 1 – August 1)! Kids can earn prizes for reading all summer, including a grand prize drawing for some really cool items. 🎉

The library also has a packed lineup of free summer events — reptile shows, a petting zoo, STEM programs, a glow foam party, and more!

This morning, we attended the Illinois Principals Association breakfast, where two of our outstanding 5th graders, John Piet and Bridget Clarke, were honored. Schools from across the South Cook region came together to recognize some of the top students in the area. We are very proud of Bridget and John for this well-deserved recognition. They represent McAuliffe and exceptionally well!
