Our wonderful APT made sure our teachers and staff were prepared for the first day by providing a delicious breakfast as well as make your own wristlet kits. We really appreciate all APT does to support Helena!

🚌☀️ SCHOOL BUS SAFETY — SLOW DOWN & STAY ALERT!

Bright and early Monday morning, our big yellow buses will be rolling as we kick off the 2026-27 school year! That means more buses, bus stops, and students on our roads. School bus safety is everyone’s responsibility. 👧👦📚

As you head out Monday morning and throughout the school year:

🛑 STOP when a school bus is stopped with flashing red lights. Never pass a stopped school bus.
👀 WATCH carefully for children getting on or off the bus.
🐢 SLOW DOWN and be prepared to stop in school zones and neighborhoods.
📵 PUT THE PHONE DOWN and keep your attention on the road.
⏰ GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME. Getting there safely is more important than getting there quickly.

🚨 Passing a stopped school bus can result in a $500 fine and five points on your driver’s license. If a driver strikes a child, the offense becomes a felony.

A child’s life can change in a split second. Stop for the bus. Protect our kids. ❤️

Let’s work together to make sure every Person County student gets to school and back home safely!

📚💙 Thank you for helping our students start the school year ready to learn!

A huge thank you to Uptown Roxboro and Duke Energy for including our PCS elementary schools in this year’s school supply drive!

More than 1,000 school supplies were donated to eight schools across Person County, with supplies making their way to all six of our PCS elementary schools. These donations provide valuable resources for our students and teachers as we begin a new school year.

We’re grateful for community partners who continue to invest in our students and support our schools in meaningful ways. Your generosity truly makes a difference!

What a great way to kick off the new school year!🚌 💛

Our Helena Elementary faculty and staff had a wonderful time attending the Person County Schools Convocation today. It was an inspiring opportunity to come together, celebrate the start of a new school year, and get energized for all that's ahead.
We're excited to welcome our students back and are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and success. Here's to an amazing school year!
