Bridging the Resource Gap: Why Artificial Intelligence is the Next Vital Infrastructure for Tillamook County – Tillamook County Pioneer 08/09/2026

Read Mr Clark’s most recent article in the Tillamook County Pioneer 📰 addressing the importance of Artificial Intelligence in small communities.

“The question isn’t whether or not we allow a machine to replace people. The question is whether we’ll let our local leaders and business owners burn out, or use background automation as a means to an end in better serving our communities.”

Gatekeeping a Culture That’s Not Worth Preserving

Me and my wife are constantly harassed with micro aggressions, suggesting we can’t do something or know what we’re talking about because we “aren’t from here”. Mrs Clark is usually the one to take it there in response, and I normally keep it pushing, but I still got time too 🕰️.

I get that when you feel like you have to gatekeep, coming across someone that clearly isn’t compromising their integrity to fit in with you, can be offensive. The disconnect is that the stubborn ways you fight so hard to protect, to the extent of trying to sabotage other members of the community, aren’t worth harassing people over. Let me explain…

The best hand rolled ci**rs I’ve ever experienced were in a black and Cuban-based community in Florida that helped build Tampa and surrounding areas. Preserve that. The best gas station food I’ve ever had was in Mississippi. Random.. but all the same… preserve that. To suggest that if people haven’t lived in the same county as you for 3+ generations aren’t allowed to contribute or live freely for that matter isn’t something worth preserving. Let people live and focus on passing something on the next generation, that doesn’t involve trying to control the narrative.

Go figure life is still life-ing in our favor.

Garden fresh sautéed Solar yellow and black nebula carrots, pesto made from the carrot tops, and our purple potatoes with steelhead trout and asparagus. The wife cooking like this got me focused on growing year round 😳🧑🏾‍🌾 👩🏽‍🍳

Just harvested some solar yellow and black nebula carrots 🥕 by Ed Hume! The wife is going to put her culinary expertise to work and maybe even make some pesto from the stalks 👀. Check comments 👇🏿 to see our pet rabbit light up when I walked past him with them lol.

I gave some of the stalks to our chickens as treats. We introduced a tiny bit to Mr Sprout 🐇 If anything is left it’ll make great nitrogen for our compost
