Tillamook Early Learning Center

I am reaching out today to share a statement that TELC is releasing in conjunction with the Tillamook Police Department. Families are encouraged to attend a family meeting at TELC, tomorrow Feb. 13th at 5:00pm.

We follow school district guidance and because of the ice on the roads, schools will again be cancelled today, Thursday February 6th. Stay safe everyone!

TELC will be closed today in suit with the schools. Happy snow day, stay safe out there!

In the event of inclement weather, TELC will follow with the school district for a full closure.

In the event of a 2 hour delay, we will open as usual with the staff who can safely commute, and we will advise accordingly.

UPDATE: We are so blessed to have had the Tillamook High School kids come down and complete this work for us. It took them less than 2 hours. A HUGE shout out to Hayden Bush and Rex Metcalfe for bringing their students over first thing this morning! Tillamook School District #9 Head Start

TELC & Head Start are looking for some help, tomorrow (Thursday 1/30) to help us move loads of bark dust onto the playground. We are starting at 9:00am, here at TELC and hoping that many hands will make light work. We are sorry for the late notice, and we appreciate any willing helpers.

This is a great class for families to understand how children learn and develop security and confidence in this big world.

9:45am Currently the phones are down at TELC. We are investigating the cause of this issue.

10:00am There is an unknown issue with the main phone line, but our data monitoring and emergency phone line is working properly and communicating with IconiPro for emergencies.

Today I am so happy to announce, that TELC has received a generous grant of $75,000 from CareOregon, for general operating support. This grant was by invitation only, because they are so pleased with the work we are doing to provide high quality care to our children, as well as fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees. In order to offer health insurance, equitable pay, training opportunities, and basics like colored ink and laminating sheets - we barely break even monthly, and over the summer we always operate in the negative when enrollment drops. Community support such as this, makes a huge difference and we are happy to continue planning for another year of successes and opportunities, here at TELC.

We are celebrating the season with tidings of joy at TELC! Starting with making holiday cards, and ending with the NKN high school choir singing songs of the season. ❤️
