Tillamook Head Start is deeply appreciative of our partnership with the Tillamook Early Learning Center and of the generosity of Girls Build in seeking us out and donating this beautiful playhouse to our center.

At the recent National Night Out, one of the young builders shared a wonderful story with us about her experience constructing the playhouse—proudly describing the tools she learned to use, with the chop saw being her favorite. Her excitement and confidence were inspiring.

Girls Build is an extraordinary organization that empowers young girls by providing hands‑on experiences that build confidence, strengthen skills, and open doors to future economic opportunities. We are grateful for their commitment to our community and for the joy this playhouse will bring to our children.

Head Start programs across Oregon are navigating a challenging environment shaped by federal funding delays, changes to regional coordination, and rising operating costs. Together, these pressures are making it increasingly difficult to maintain classrooms and services for children and families.

As lawmakers review the state budget, stable funding for Head Start remains essential to keeping classrooms open, supporting educators, and delivering critical services families rely on.

Please contact your legislator and ask them to protect Head Start funding so programs can continue serving children and families across Oregon at this link: https://ow.ly/C0m650Yo9b8
