We have a full camp here at Hancock this week with three astronomy camps and LABO (our campers from Japan) who are on their third week in the US. It’s a hot one out here too…the high on Wednesday reached 108.1 degrees! We’ve done some swimming and played water games to keep cool. The astronomy campers are having fun learning about the sun, the moon, and our solar system by day, and using telescope time at night to find deep space objects, planets, stars and constellations. LABO has been soaking up the heat with some hikes, and have been learning about desert ecology, archaeology, and a bit about stars. We’re doing well over here…soaking up the sun while we learn about it!
Looking forward to sleeping out under the stars, cooler temperatures, and clear skies!
