Not sure what Oregon law says about e-bikes and e-scooters?
We've created a webpage with some of the most important information about riding safely and legally. Learn more at www.tigard-or.gov/TPD-ebike.
Here are a few Oregon e-bike and e-scooter laws every rider (and parent) should know:
• E-scooters: riders must be age 16 or older, except on private property with permission. The minimum age changes to 14 on January 1, 2027.
• Class 1 E-bikes: riders must be age 16 or older, except on private property with permission. The minimum age changes to 14 on January 1, 2027.
• Class 2 and Class 3 E-bikes: riders must be age 16 or older.
• E-bikes: not allowed on sidewalks.
• Parents: you may be cited for your child's violation.
• Helmets: required for all e-scooter riders, regardless of age. For e-bikes, helmets are required for riders under age 16 and recommended for everyone age 16 and older.
Please remember that e-bikes and e-scooters are prohibited on all TTSD elementary and middle school campuses, per school district policy.
We know some may have questions about enforcement. Education, responsible riding and enforcement all play a role in improving safety. Keeping our community safe is a shared responsibility, and knowing and following the law helps prevent crashes and injuries before they happen.
Learn the rules, ride responsibly and help keep our community safe.

Tigard High School’s Multicultural Night was a huge success again!! The food was amazing! All the desserts were delicious. The kids at their booths shared so much about their culture. They even had a piñata at the end of the night.
