The Northwest School of Discipleship staff is expanding with Makyra Williamson coming on board as the new Project Antioch Female Chaperone! Makyra has attended numerous NWSD events, and worked as our female chaperone on our Cambodia Mission Trip this past spring and did a wonderful job! She will be serving our young women students by chaperoning most of our trips, leading discussion and prayer in split devotional times, and being an older Christian mentor for the ladies in the program.
Makyra Williamson has served as the community outreach director for Oregon Right to Life since 2022. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Harding University and an MA in English Rhetoric and Composition from Boise State University. Makyra grew up in the churches in the Pacific Northwest and deeply loves the body of Christ here. She attends the Southwest congregation and has been involved in helping with youth camps and retreats, speaking and songleading for women’s events, and Leadership Training for Christ Northwest. Makyra is passionate about thinking and communicating clearly about the Word of God. In her free time, she enjoys reading British literature, baking sourdough bread, and singing—especially in praise.
We are so excited to have her with us for this upcoming year!

On April 26, 2026 our 14 Project Antioch students graduated and received their certificates. We had over 140 in attendance to celebrate these amazing young people and we are so grateful to the many volunteers who make this program possible. A HUGE thank you to our mentors, host families, instructors and supporters for making this great ministry what it is. Our prayer is for incredible faithfulness in these young people as the years go on! Pray for them!

Cambodia 🇰🇭 Trip 2026
We visited Angkor Wat and many other temples in the Angkor Kingdom. It was a long day of walking and seeing many sights (including temple monkeys!) These temples were dedicated to Buddhism and Hinduism, and had a tumultuous history. Many Hindu statues had their heads removed, and many Buddha statues had face carvings removed over the years. There seemed to be a constant disagreement despite the attempt to blend the two religions. It was a very informative day, though eerie at times, as both of these religions are near opposites to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Cambodia 🇰🇭 2026
We have officially returned from our trip to Cambodia! This incredible mission experience brought us to Cambodia Christian Ministries in the Kampong Speu province, where we served orphans and taught English. Additionally, we worked with the Cambodia Bible School students to help them in their English. Here is a quick peek at a few moments. Waaayyy more to come. This was a trip of a lifetime and we already miss our brothers and sisters in that great place! Kyom S’dahrlang Kampuchia!
