It’s almost time! On September 2nd we will be having an internship panel at our meeting. We will be asking students questions about their summer internships to learn more about their experience. Stop by and learn from your fellow peers.
Walking tacos are served at 6 and the panel starts at 6:15.

Next up is our RSO Rep Makayla Hughes-

This summer I got the opportunity to do an agriculture internship. I am interning at the Laurens County Extension Office. I have gotten so many opportunities to go talk to farmers,host events, and inform people about livestock. Since may, I have been planning two big projects which include running a livestock clinic to help inform younger kids on showing animals but also farm to table which helped show kids where their food comes from. I have been able to assist other interns and other leaders in doing so. Through this I was able to learn how it is to work with others but also a side of extension I have never seen before.

Up next is our Reporter- Brooke Henderson

This summer, I had the opportunity to continue as a student worker in agricultural research at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus under Dr. Taylor Singleton. Throughout the summer, I gained hands-on experience by collecting, analyzing, and processing data from a variety of agricultural research projects, including studies on cover crops and pollinator habitats. I am excited to join the team!

Up next is our Treasurer - Lilly Canevari.

This summer I’m interning with TriEst Ag Group in Greenville, North Carolina. TriEst Ag Group is a distributer and applicator of soil fumigation, irrigation, fertilizer, and equipment products. Throughout my internship, I’ve toured multiple agribusinesses, participated in field trials with the agronomy team and worked on departmental projects. I’ve even connected with industry professionals and seen so many different aspects of the agricultural industry during my internship!
