I am incredibly proud of our students and faculty for this outstanding achievement.

According to recent data from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, ABAC is the second-largest feeder institution to UGA's DVM Class of 2030. In addition, 28 ABAC students were accepted into veterinary schools over the past year, including 13 who enrolled at UGA and 15 who earned admission to veterinary programs across the country.

This accomplishment reflects the strength of our Animal Science and Biology programs, the dedication of our faculty, and the determination of our students. Through hands-on learning, undergraduate research, internships, and close faculty mentorship, ABAC students are well prepared for the next step in their educational journey.

As Georgia's agricultural college, we are proud to help develop the next generation of veterinarians who will serve animal health, agriculture, and rural communities throughout our state and beyond.

Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff on this remarkable success.

I had the opportunity to attend the Governor’s Workforce Summit and join leaders from across Georgia in celebrating the students, educators, employers and communities helping build our state’s future.

The connection between education and workforce development is so important, and I’m proud of the role the University System of Georgia plays in connecting talent with opportunity.

With $25.1 billion in economic impact, 170,096 jobs supported and countless graduates building stronger economic futures right here in Georgia, the impact of USG extends far beyond our campuses.

I’m grateful to be part of this important work and proud of the role ABAC plays in preparing students for meaningful careers and serving communities across our state. 💚💛🐴

It was a pleasure to celebrate this special milestone with our nursing students over cookies and cupcakes while recognizing six decades of nursing education at ABAC.

It was a pleasure to join our students, faculty, and staff for ABAC's International Mix & Mingle event last week. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and celebrate the many cultures represented across our campus community.

One highlight of the night was a Kahoot challenge where teams worked together to identify 50 flags from countries around the world. It was a fun reminder of the global perspectives and experiences that enrich life at ABAC every day.

We are proud to welcome students from around the world to Stallion Nation! 🌎💚

Today, I had the privilege of attending two meaningful Patriot Day remembrance ceremonies in our community.

This morning, I joined community leaders, first responders, and citizens at the Tifton Fire Department's Never Forget Patriot Day Ceremony. Thank you to the Tifton Fire Department and the Exchange Club of Tifton for organizing such a moving tribute. The display of flags honoring each life lost on September 11, 2001, and the enormous American flag that served as the backdrop for the ceremony were powerful reminders of a day our nation will never forget.

Later, the ABAC community gathered under our flagpole for a 25-year memorial service led by our Fine Arts Department, band, choir, and Student Government members. I was especially proud to hear remarks from ABAC alumnus Anfernee McDonald, who challenged us to never forget and to remember where we were on that historic day. The music, reflections, and shared remembrance made for a meaningful tribute.

Twenty-five years later, the events of September 11 continue to remind us of the fragility of life, the strength of the American spirit, and the importance of service to others. Today, we paused to remember those we lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the resilience that emerged from one of the most difficult days in our nation's history.

Thank you to Sigma Alpha for inviting me to Bid Day! It was wonderful to stop by and celebrate with these outstanding young women. I was especially touched by the personalized bid shell they created and signed for me. Moments like these are a great reminder of the friendships, leadership, and sense of community that make ABAC such a special place. Thank you for the warm welcome, Sigma Alpha! 💚

Yesterday, ABAC and UGA College of Veterinary Medicine took an important step toward the future of rural veterinary medicine.

We are proud to formalize this memorandum of understanding with the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine regarding the Georgia Rural Practice Veterinary Incentive Program. This partnership represents what can happen when institutions come together around a shared purpose: creating opportunities for students while addressing a critical need facing rural Georgia and our agricultural industry.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible: Dr. Mary Ellen Hicks, Dr. Jason Goodner, Dr. Henry Young, Dr. Lisa K. Nolan, and Dr. Andrew Parks.

I am grateful to the faculty and leadership at both ABAC and UGA who made this partnership possible. Together, we are investing in the future of veterinary medicine by supporting the next generation of veterinarians who will serve and strengthen communities across the region and beyond.

I enjoyed joining John Holcomb on the Georgia Farm Bureau podcast to talk about ABAC, our agricultural heritage, and our commitment to preparing students through relevant, hands-on learning experiences.
Agriculture remains the foundation of who we are, but our mission is broader: preparing graduates who will strengthen the industries, communities, and rural economies that keep Georgia moving forward.

It was a pleasure to attend yesterday’s State of Healthcare at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. I was proud to see Dr. Joseph Falcone represent ABAC and the School of Nursing, Health and Natural Sciences on a distinguished panel of healthcare and industry leaders. I also enjoyed spending time with Dr. Yvonne Smith, Dr. Heather Cathcart, Dr. Susan Clements and Jennifer Morrell over lunch and appreciated the thoughtful discussions about the future of healthcare in our communities. Thanks to Dr. Inna Estepp for also helping with the event.

One of the most special moments of the Regents’ Scholarship Gala this past weekend was seeing our own Mrs. Rosalyn Donaldson honored with the Alumni and Distinguished Friends Award. It was an honor to accept this recognition on her behalf, as she was unable to attend the gala. ❤️

For 35 years, Mrs. Donaldson shaped the lives of more than 15,000 ABAC students. Since her retirement, her love for ABAC has only grown stronger. Her generosity, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to our college have touched generations of students, faculty, and staff. She truly embodies what it means to be a lifelong champion of ABAC.

The “Sea of Dreams” theme was a beautiful reminder of how scholarships help students pursue their dreams and chart a course toward a brighter future. The gala supported Georgia DREAMS, a new need-based aid scholarship program, and it is exciting to be part of Georgia’s first statewide need-based aid program.

I was proud to attend alongside ABAC colleagues who share that same commitment to helping our students and our college thrive.

Congratulations, Mrs. Donaldson. We are so proud of you and grateful for the remarkable legacy you continue to build at ABAC. 🤍
