The Georgia Young Farmers Association is saddened to learn of the passing of Carla Payne. Carla had a deep love for agriculture and a heart for serving others. She was a longtime supporter of Georgia agriculture and the Georgia Young Farmers Association, and her involvement and friendship touched many throughout our agricultural community.

We are grateful for Carla’s years of support, service, and dedication to Georgia agriculture. Her presence will be greatly missed. Please join us in keeping Carla’s family, friends, and all those who knew and loved her in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Congratulations to our 2027 Georgia Young Farmers Association Farm Family of the Year Finalists!

Please join us in celebrating these outstanding farm families as they advance to the next stage of the Farm Family of the Year program:

North Region: David & Allison Key – Carroll County

Central Region: Jake & Shannon Patrick – Effingham County

South Region: Ryne & Mikala Powers – Appling County

In the coming months, each family will welcome judges to their farm to share their operation, their story, and the impact they are making in Georgia agriculture.
We look forward to recognizing one family as the 2027 Georgia Young Farmers Association Farm Family of the Year during our Annual Convention this January.

August 14–15, 2026
Georgia National Fairgrounds | Perry, GA

The show will feature classes for Beef Cattle, Dairy Cattle, Goats, Sheep, and Swine.
