Tracy’s Karate Studio of Tiffin will remain open this Monday Sept. 7th, Labor Day. Monday Kickboxing class will proceed a scheduled at 4pm. The holidays we close for are: Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. Hope to see you there!

Kenpo Shield is a yellow belt technique that we teach to our students to get them used to the idea of forward linear movement while defending themselves. As the technique is taught in yellow belt it is two steps forward, one step back, and back to your stance. However, it can be converted into a floor drill and done across the mat to emphasize forward pressure. Some of our other techniques that can be used as floor drills include Japanese Sword and Chinese Sword. Kenpo Shield can also be done as a partner drill, practicing defensive strategies against an overhand strike!
