Dr. Quintard Taylor founded BlackPast.org with a simple but ambitious goal: to make the history of Black people across the globe accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

That vision became BlackPast’s mission: to provide reliable information on Black history, while promoting greater understanding of the diversity of the Black experience and the global Black presence.

Today, BlackPast.org is the largest online encyclopedia of African American and Global African history, continuing Dr. Taylor’s belief that this knowledge should be remembered, reclaimed and accessible to everyone.
