TEPS PTA - Thurmont Elementary & Primary Schools To raise the standards of home life, facilitate environment for parents & teachers to cooperate & to secure the highest educational advantages.

Did you know that the National/State/Local PTA Objective is:

* To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship

* To raise the standards of home life

* To secure adequate laws of the care and protection of children and youth

* To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest

advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education. In summary, studies have shown that children whose parents support them and are involved in school activities outperform children of similar aptitude whose parents are not involved. It is with this in mind that we ask you consider getting involved with the Thurmont Elementary Parent Teacher Association (TES/TPS PTA). Our volunteer work on a local level is in a variety of capacities including, but not limited to, helping facilitate the link between you and your child(rens) school(s) and community through volunteering opportunities, by financially supplementing school activities including field trips and to provide a platform that encourages communication and support between school staff, parents and the community. On a state and national level the PTA speaks on behalf of your children before government bodies responsible for making decisions affecting our schools and children. We are more than the fundraising stigma attached to the PTA name; we are your link to your children’s schools, their education. The TEPS PTA is the representation of every child, one voice in our Thurmont community. Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. By donating even just your time, you will make a difference. Let your voice be heard! Consider an annual membership and become part of your child’s future.

Like the Tree 🌳, our Teachers give, give and give. They got to have a “refreshing“ day Wednesday with a hydration station! Then showered in 🍎 appreciation by students who gave teachers, of their choice, a reminder of what an impact they make.

Then today, they could eat it here, or there, in the lounge, in the hall or even in their room. Breakfast was brought Green Eggs 🥚 and Ham style!

To help make this celebration meaningful, we are seeking donations from our school community. Your support will allow us to provide themed treats, small gifts, and appreciation activities throughout the week.
