Have you heard about America's first Welsh Astronaut?

Born in Cardiff in 1933, John Anthony Llewellyn was one of the first two naturalized U.S. citizens to be selected as a NASA astronaut.

Llewellyn attended school in the UK, and earned a bachelor of science and doctorate in chemistry from University College in Cardiff.

Mr. Llewellyn was selected for the Astronaut Corps in 1967 as an Astronaut-Scientist but never flew, resigning in 1968 just months before the moon landing.

Following his year training as a NASA Astronaut, Llewellyn went on to become an Aquanaut for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and a distinguished academic.

UNLESS you live in Maryland DO not like or share this page. I'm trying to see how many folks in MARYLAND are interested. So far all I have received are vendor or other clubs liking the group. I NEED to see folks from Maryland, before I spend my time or money promoting this group.
