Hello TMS families-
Some of you may have heard the tragic news about Mr. Norris. He had a terrible accident in his pool last Friday and broke his neck. He is currently in critical but stable condition at Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Mr. Norris needs all the prayers and positive energy right now. We are gathering items for a care package that will be delivered next Friday. Along with that, we would like to give him a book with messages from his TMS students. They have made such an impact in his short 6 weeks of teaching, he did not want the school year to end! I know his spirits will be lifted and reading them will give him the motivation to stay strong and keep fighting.

If anyone would like to donate items for the care package, he is a huge sports fan and likes all Pittsburgh teams and enjoys country music as well. As the road ahead is a long one, gift cards for food and gas would be greatly appreciated! Donations can be dropped off at TMS M-Th, 8:30-3:00 pm.

Hey Catoctin Area Businesses,

Thurmont Middle School needs some help! Please see the message from principal, Mrs. Janine Smith. Businesses that donate $200 or more will have their business name included on the backside of the shirts!

Thurmont Middle School is transitioning the logo and mascot from a Panther to the Cougar to support our strong Catoctin feeder commitment. Every Thurmont Middle School student will eventually attend Catoctin High School, where the school mascot is the Cougar. This change of the mascot would foster a stronger connection between the middle school and the high school and would align our vision to Catoctin High School by allowing students to envision themselves as middle school Cougars and eventually as Cougars walking across the stage at high school graduation. Your donation to Thurmont Middle School will allow us to purchase a t-shirt for each student at TMS to show pride, unity, and connection to the entire student body when we switch from the Panther to the Cougar during Term 4 of this school year. We plan to have all 550+ students at TMS wear their new Cougar shirt on March 25th to solidify our new school mascot!
