ANNOUNCEMENT INCOMING! This Monday 3/25 The Cross Genre Singing Blueprint will be formally launching!!

If you are sick of feeling like you have to figure out certain genres all on your own, you get the side eye from teachers when you bring up interests in another genre, or just feel like you don’t even know where to start, this course is for you!

We’ll be deep diving into 5 genres (classical/legit mt, jazz, contemporary mt, pop & rock) as well as tackling the mental block and lack of confidence and ownership so many of us face when singing across genres!

I am so excited!!! My vocal studio has grown enough that I am going to put a lot more time and energy to grow it as a business. Because of this, I am officially making a separate Instagram account for all things teaching, voice lessons, and vocal tips! If you are loving that content, go ahead and follow 🎶

Let’s talk ALIGNMENT! I learned from the best to value good alignment ✅ over good “posture” ❌

Our whole body is our instrument and therefore the entire body needs to be aligned to give our instrument it’s best shot.

Sometimes “good posture” can imply changing the natural curvature of the spine so the chest can lift. This can cut off extremely valuable lung space.

What I have learned: since everyone’s body is slightly different, so is their alignment. Try playing around with your alignment and see what unlocks the most support and 360 degree breath!

PELVIC TILT is something I teach to all of my students! It can totally change the game for a full 360 degree breath.

When the pelvis is properly aligned, so is the respiratory system, support system, and therefore the vocal mechanism.

Wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to these two groups & for having such amazing successes this past weekend!!! My absolute LOVE and JOY DaCadence A Ca****la that I was a part of until 2019 just won the Mid-Atlantic Semi Final at the ICCA competition and are going to NYC to compete in ICCA finals! Making HISTORY

FLEX PITCH is a group that I still love to sing with when I can, and they took second place in the Harmony Sweepstakes competition. I AM JUST SO HAPPY AND PROUD!

Breathing is one of the most important things a singer needs to do and understand. We also need breathing to live, so you could say it is VERY important. Here are some some tips and info I have learned through my journey as a singer and teacher, and some things I’ve come to believe about breathing through exploration of the body and respiratory system. Your respiratory system is NOT just your lungs! It is your rib cage, your diaphragm, and all the other muscles that help your body intake air.
