New Cell Phone Policy for 2026-2027

River Valley is making changes to our cell phone expectations due to the passage of a new State of Michigan law requiring schools to limit student cell phone use during instructional time.

Grades 6-8: Phones will be off and put away all day.
Grades 9-12: Phones may be used during lunch and passing time, but must be off and away during class.

The goal is simple: fewer distractions, more learning, and more opportunities for students to connect.

Thank you, families, for your support as we put these new requirements in place!
