Big questions call for an even BIGGER story🌎

During our God's Big Story seminar, Vanguard students journeyed through the entire Bible with Dr. Cyndi Parker, exploring God's redemptive work throughout history and discovering how their own stories fit into His.

Because before asking, "What’s next for me?" it’s worth asking, "How can I be part of what God is doing?"

Returning to the Rock meant returning to the stories, the people, and the moments that have shaped us.

We celebrated what God has done at HoneyRock, remembered the impact it has had on so many lives, and prayed for all that is still to come.

The 2010s called…we didn’t answer. We were out of service🌲
While social media was taking over and smartphones were finding their way into every hand, HoneyRockers had their packs on and phones off.

We were busy building a new chapel, starting a gap year program, launching a Master’s degree, expanding our property lines, and becoming a Center for Leadership Development. NBD😎

And just like that, another Vanguard year begins🌲

This past weekend, our newest Vanguard cohort embarked on their journey. They gathered around tables with their families, worshiped together, planted an apple tree, and began learning the rhythms of life at HoneyRock.

The apple tree may be small now, but the year has just begun. Over the months ahead, roots will deepen, friendships will form, faith will be strengthened, and this place will begin to feel a little more like home.

Here’s to all that God will grow in them from here🍎

Y2K, but make it HoneyRock: new cabins, growing programs, wilderness adventures, and a vision getting bigger🌲💚

The 2000s were an exciting era for HoneyRock as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. The Elsen Operations Center and new Village and Timber Hollow cabins were built. Winterized River Cabins that opened up even more possibilities for year-round programming, and high school wilderness programs were given new life.

This growth went far beyond buildings as Honey Rock Camp was established as the HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development.

2000s HoneyRockers, what’s a memory from this era you’ll never forget? 👇
