It was a scary evening at the Stiles Farm last night. A few graduate students were taking some soil samples, and their truck started a grass fire south of 79. Thanks to a quick response from firefighters and police no people or animals were hurt.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of the responders, and especially to the crew from ESD 10 under the leadership of Mark Moellenberg.

I was able to listen in on the radio during the fire, and I was extremely impressed with the coordination and professionalism of all the firefighters present. We are truly lucky to have them serving our communities.
