Hi! I am Kellie, and this is my first year on the PTA. I have 2 kids attending Weathersfield this year, my daughter is in 2nd grade, and my son is in Kindergarten. We are new to Thousand Oaks, moved here during summer of last year. We are truly loving this city and the smaller community feel it offers.

I’m very excited to be more involved in the kids’ school this year and am soaking up every minute of their childhood that I can. I hope to help make it a great year!

Fun Fact:
I like to read! Mystery books are my favorite.

Hi, I’m Doug, and I’ll be leading hospitality again this year. This is my second year on the PTA. I always promised my younger self I’d be involved in our kiddos schools. I’m looking forward to getting to know as many people as I can at the school and helping out wherever I can. Our son is in Kindergarten, and we’re looking forward to an awesome second year at Weathersfield!

Fun Fact:I’m a game design director working in video games. I’ve worked on Call of Duty, Uncharted, and The Last of Us, to name a few. I’m pretty nerdy and like to talk about space, science fiction, and comics. The list goes on, so don’t get me started.

Happy Friday! With September behind us, we’re gearing up for one of our busiest and most fun months of the school year!

October brings National Walk to School Day, Family Food Night at The Cliffdiver, our annual Boo Bash & Trunk or Treat, and Red Ribbon Week!

Watch for details to come home soon regarding all of the ways to participate in Red Ribbon Week, which ends with our Halloween costume parade, Friday, 10/30.

Also look for a flyer to come home regarding next month’s annual Talent Show and Yearbook Cover Contest. Applications for both are due this month!

And make a note: October 12-16 will be a minimum-day schedule for parent-teacher conferences.

Hi! I’m Amanda, Parliamentarian for the PTA. I have two kids at Weathersfield-one in Kindergarten and one in Second. My husband, kids, and I walk to school most mornings. It’s our favorite part of the day and a great way to meet other Weathersfield families. This is my second year on the PTA. I never expected to be so involved at my kids’ school, but the wonderful community here just pulled us right in!
Fun Fact: I grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, which is known for the Billy Joel song “Allentown,” Bethlehem Steel (which made steel for the Golden Gate Bridge!), and the first-ever Halloween parade in 1905. It’s also the home of Peeps. I’ve been in California for 16 years, but I still feel like a “Pennsylvanian” and will happily talk your ear off about it any time!
