For the last four years, one student from the Ventura County Science Fair has been invited to compete at the international science fair. A Center student has been selected each of those four years.
Tonight, Olivia Johnson won $5000 from DCAT for her research investigating whether combining two compounds can more effectively reduce the survival and growth of triple-negative breast cancer cells.
Olivia will be attending UCLA in the fall to further pursue her research.

Ventura County sends the 35 top-scoring projects on to the California State Science Fair and the highest-scoring project on to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. We wish each of them the best of luck, but more importantly, the best of times.

My name is Tasha Beaudoin and I am the program co-director of The Center.

I’m hoping the Facebook community can help one of our students who does not have enough data (survey participants).

Looking for participants aged 41-61 (Gen X) with permanent residence in Southern California.

This is a student survey researching the correlation between aquatic engagement (ex: swimming, beachgoing) and awareness of fire retardant-based pollutants in the ocean.

Aquatic Engagement on Oceanic Conservation This survey aims to investigate the extent that personal engagement with the ocean and wildfire engagement in relation to the knowledge of ongoing marine issues related to fire retardant runoff in Southern California.
