MONTECIT 2026 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Our mission is to instruct, mentor, and inspire the next generation of great musicians while paying homage to today’s masters.
In 2026, we will honor two distinguished musicians: Peter Takács (Session 1) and Larry Livingston (session 4). This is a special opportunity to express our gratitude for their lifetime commitment and devotion to music.
We invite you to join us in celebrating their excellence and love of music.
Our past honorees include Abram Shtern, Ruggiero Ricci, Ivry Gitlis, János Starker, Ida Haendel, Aaron Rosand, Alice Schoenfeld and John Perry.
To honor our 2026 recipients: Mr. Peter Takács and Mr. Larry Livingston, we will host special concerts along with master classes and competitions.

Distinguished cellist and professor of Cello, Andrew Shulman, from Thornton School of Music at USC, will be in residence for Session 1. He will conduct a masterclass focused on Bach’s suites for solo cello and offer private lessons to selected students. Limited spots are available, and motivated students are invited to apply for opportunity to study with Professor Andrew Shulman.

Session 3, July 5 - July 14, Yoshikazu Nagai, Piano Chair, San Francisco Conservatory of Music
Session 4, July 15 - July 24: Norman Krieger, Jacobs School of Music
Each will give masterclasses and private lessons, providing participants with an exceptional opportunity to learn from internationally repeated performers and pedagogues.
